Just spent 2 hours settling mum into her 3/7 day week apartment in Punggol. Drove her there with her barang, unpacked, set up the room, did some orientation, then drove home.=)
She's renting the place from a friend, and only need to cover the electricity. Basics for a hdb flat are there and it's fully furnished. Seems the friend let's relatives from m'sia stay there when they come visit.
Not too bad lah, lcd tv with dvd player, couch, all rooms have a bed, ironing board, washing needs, water boiler...This person likes the traditional feel and bought the old style kopitiam round table with four chairs for the living area. Bedroom floors were paquet, so it's comfy.
Just that the floor was real dusty so the major cleaning was there, plus set up the ironing board, toilet necessities, washed some stuff for use too.
So mum will be there for 3 days, weekly, coz it's nearer her school and she saves time travelling-- why do i have a feeling I have to drive her there every sunday. hmmm...
And the feeding dog probelm is still not solved lor...best...she told me about the move on Friday. (heard of the intent end of last year, but no confimration whether it'd materialise since it meant having to move and spending some moolah.)
Anyway, as i walked through the void deck, it reminded me so much of hostel. The dead quiet still air, with just crickets in a distance, and the prominent sounds are the shuffling of your flip flops and the rustle of plastic bags (in hall, you probably just came back from the super market or da baoed some supper from outside.)
Punggol like NTU -- ulu.....hahaha..
